In the interest of studying the history of the Chicago CoinOperated industry, our group came upon Rob Lach, an independent game developer and proprietor of the independent game event Bit Bash. While he has not been directly involved in coinoperated games specifically, our interview and discussions with him showed particular similar principles with coinop games and the industry itself. In this process our group hoped to gain a perspective on the earlier days of game development and how the game industry as a whole has changed. Our interview with Rob Lach was an invaluable experience for us and gave us much more insight than we had first imagined.

Interview with Rob Lach completed by David Sobel and Julianna Bochnak  on October 20, 2015. Photographs by Evan Williams. Transcription by Brandon Sansone and Jon Kaegebein. The full archive of the interview, including the complete audio file, full transcription, and additional photographs, is available through the IIT Institutional Repository.
